A recent article from Vox.com illustrates the fact that folks still don’t understand why students aren’t learning how to read. After a survey of the history of the science of reading, the author bounces back and forth about what different places are doing about it. Folks still seem to want one thing to fix everything.
Thankfully, that one thing is coming. I turned over the second chapter of my upcoming book, Holistic Language Instruction, to the editor yesterday.
