In recent years, evidence has emerged of a significant overlap between autism and gender dysphoria. As a non-binary person myself, I have followed this research with interest. While earlier studies primarily measured autistic traits in patients at gender clinics rather than diagnosed cases of autism, the number of publications on this suggested overlap has more than doubled in the last 2-3 years. With this growth in research, there is now sufficient evidence to draw firmer conclusions on the true intersection of autism and gender dysphoria. In a recent article from Embrace Autism, the author explores some of these recent research findings on the link between being autistic and experiencing gender dysphoria. Check it out.

I love it when science confirms what we've known already for so long. I feel vindicated!
