Around 4:40 they talk about how the "chasers'" focus of transition is on the physical changes and how that is not what transition truly is. As an NB, I don't have any physical changes. For me, personally, it is all mental, emotional, finding a new way to navigate society, friends and family, etc.

I'm developing a piece for next week and the many internal changes that HRT has brought. The mental / emotional changes have been profound ... as has the roller coaster. :)

I look forward to listening! I am in autistic perimenopause (which is often a different experience than allistic menopause) and have been dealing with changing hormones for the past couple years and it has been very hard. No one ever talked to me about it as the generations before me (boomer and older) didn't really discuss those things, even with direct questions. So I had no idea what was going on with me, what was hormone, what was something else... and my primary was ignorant and unsupportive. Even my gyno was unsupportive. I ended up having to google shit and ask in autistic groups. I am now doing HRT to help with all of it and have found it super helpful with giving me more energy and motivation and improving my mood for the most part. Some European countries and Canada are doing research on autistic perimenopause and the care we receive (I was a participant!) but I haven't heard of any U.S. research. Anyway, I understand it is a different transition but it has some commonalities and I felt encouraged to share. Hope that is okay.
