In the Stillness of Chaos: A Journey in Verse
Poetry of Survival, Reclamation, and Transformation
So, I did a thing.
The poems, mostly private, that I’ve been writing … yah, I published them. Here’s the link to the publisher’s page. It makes a great gift :).
I write my poetry in Notepad. I have a bunch of them that I’ve written over the past year. This weekend, I assembled them into MS Word, managing the formatting to go to EPUB format.
The cover art was designed in Photoshop. I’ve been using it since version 2.5.
I imported the formatted Word file into Vellum. I like the ability to control how the file will look - as opposed to the auto-format options at the various publishers.
Lulu had the best value for features for the pricing options, so that’s why I chose Lulu to publish the book. I really wanted to keep the price as low as possible, so the other platforms just weren’t an option. Also, they seem to be the most flexible in terms of distribution and platform options around the world.
I really hope that you enjoy this very personal departure from my usual non-fiction work. I’ve occasionally put poems here on SubStack. But this is a full collection of the last year’s works.
Let me know what you think.
